Annual General Meeting and Rediscovered: The Stories of the Surrey Hills in World War II

October 8, 2025 @ 7:45 pm - 9:30 pm

Walton & District Local History Society invites you to our latest talk:

Rediscovered: The Stories of the Surrey Hills in World War II

Come along for an evening of newly unearthed stories, revealed through recent National Trust research. We’ll bring to life extraordinary local tales — from the courage of a Canadian nurse and moments of romance amidst conflict, to the secrets of how Churchill’s agents trained here to fight the Nazis.

Discover the surprising history of the so-called Bonzo agents — men who turned from Nazi allies into some of Britain’s bravest operatives and how their top secret work connects to our area.
This promises to be an evening of local history, intrigue, and human drama — not to be missed!
